BHOPAL - Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Sports Minister Tukojirao Pawar Tuesday suffered minor injuries when a toll tax collector, angered at the minister’s refusal to pay tariff, threw stones at his private car, according to police.

The incident occurred Tuesday morning at Khajuri Sadak when the minister’s car was stopped at the toll post while he was on his way to Dewas from here, a police oficial said.

Pawar’s security guard Vir Brajendra Singh refused to pay the tax, telling the toll post staff that it was a minister’s car and hence commanded special privilege.

However, the toll post staffer insisted that since the minister was in his private car, he was liable to pay the tariff.

Soon heated arguments ensued between the two, following which the toll tax collector threw stones at the car, causing minor injuries both to the minister and his guard, according to the police.

A case has been registered against the collector, the police said.
