Gang of robbers busted, two arrested

NEW DELHI - Delhi Police have busted a gang of robbers and arrested two of those who hijacked a truck ferrying cosmetics worth Rs.13 lakhs to Uttarakhand.
On Jan 3, the gang members got into the truck at gunpoint at Gokulpuri areahere . They dumped the driver near a jungle in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said. The truck was driven to Uttarakhand.
The police got a breakthrough when they traced the owner of the car used in the crime. He led the police to a friend, Gullu, who had borrowed the car on Jan 3.
Gullu accepted his involvement in the crime and revealed the names of his associates - Wasim, Nadim, Shahid, Pawan, Rakesh, Vicky and Sabir.
The stolen goods were recovered from a village in Ghaziabad. Raids are on to arrest those who are absconding, police added.
