NEW DELHI - Three motorcycle-borne robbers Thursday snatched a bag containing Rs.8 lakh in cash from employees of a garment factory after throwing chilli powder in their eyes, police said.
The police said three employees of Richa Garments in Kirti Nagar in west Delhi were taking the money from one office to the other on foot around 2.15 p.m. when three men on a motorbike approached them and one of them threw chilli powder in their eyes.
“The assailants then snatched the bag of money and escaped on their motorbike before anyone could react. We suspect that someone from the factory passed the information about the cash to the assailants. We have registered a case and are investigating the matter,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (west Delhi) Sharad Aggarwal.
