BHUBANESWAR - A minor boy was hospitalised after he fell from the 13th century Sun Temple at Konark in Orissa Thursday, police said.

Thirteen-year-old Swetanga Panwar had come along with five others including his parents from Uttarakhand to see the temple, a world heritage site at Konark in the district of Puri, about 65 km here.

“He accidentally slipped from a height of about 15 feet from the Jagmohan area of the temple at about 9.30 a.m.” police officer Laxmidhar Sahu told IANS. The boy has sustained injuries on his back but is currently out of danger, he said.

This was the second mishap at the temple during the past 48 hours. A 50-year-old tourist from Bangalore also sustained injuries and was hospitalised after he fell from the same temple Wednesday.
