Family: Reagan grandson arrest a misunderstanding
LOS ANGELES — The family of former President Ronald Reagan’s grandson says he was arrested after accidentally tripping a panic alarm at his Los Angeles home.
Former talk show host Michael Reagan says his son, 31-year-old Cameron Reagan, didn’t know he’d set off the alarm when he arrived home with friends early Thursday in Van Nuys. He says police surrounded the home and his son went outside.
Police say officers stopped Cameron Reagan when he tried to leave and he was arrested after being uncooperative and belligerent. Officer April Harding says he was booked on suspicion of resisting arrest. He was being held on $10,000 bail.
In 2001, Cameron Reagan was ordered to a 90-day, live-in drug and anger management program for marijuana possession while on probation for a car break-in case.
