Vishal Yadav moves court for interim bail

NEW DELHI - Vishal Yadav, who is serving a life sentence for killing Nitish Katara, approached the Delhi High Court for interim bail again Wednesday to attend his grandfather’s last rites.
Filing the interim bail application on behalf of Vishal, his younger brother Vivek Yadav contended that since his grandfather died Jan 1 and Vishal is the eldest in the family, the last rites Jan 11 should be done by Vishal.
The court will hear Vishal’s plea Thursday.
Earlier this year, Vishal was allowed to attend his sister’s engagement ceremony Jan 3 on a five-hour parole.
Vishal also stated that he had been on bail earlier too and his conduct was good at that time.
Vishal and Vikas Yadav had kidnapped and killed Katara, son of an IAS officer, on the night of Feb 17, 2002 after abducting him from a marriage party in Ghaziabad as they were against the relationship between him and Bharti, Vikas’s sister.
In June last year, the duo was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing Nitish Katara. Earlier this year, Vikas was granted 24-hour custody parole to attend his sister Bharti’s marriage.
