3rd body found after Detroit apartment fire
DETROIT — Fire investigators say they’ve found the body of a third person who died in a blaze at an apartment building in Detroit.
The Detroit Free Press reports that the body of 67-year-old Ann Louise Roeder was found Saturday.
Fire Capt. Steve Varnas says Roeder was among several people unaccounted for after the fire Thursday night at the five-story Huntington Hotel.
Varnas says the others may be staying with friends or relatives or at shelters or hotels.
The fire also injured a resident and two firefighters. The names of the two men whose bodies were found previously have not been released.
Officials have said a drunken man living at the building used a piece of paper to light a cigarette and accidentally touched off the fire. The man has not been arrested, but Varnas says possible charges will be discussed with prosecutors.
