Cop held for assaulting doctor

SRINAGAR - A sub-inspector of police was Wednesday arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman doctor in central Badgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A senior police officer told IANS here: “Sub-inspector Mustafa was arrested after an FIR (First Information Report) was lodged against him for assaulting a lady doctor in the district.”

The doctor posted in a primary health centre in Badgam district has alleged that the

sub-inspector had assaulted her when she was performing her duties at the health centre.

“Investigations into the case have started,” the senior police officer said.
