PANCHKULA - Coming out of hiding after several years, S.C. Girhotra, father of molestation victim Ruchika Girhotra, Thursday said the entire establishment in Haryana was responsible for the death of his daughter and the harassment that his family went through.

“No girl in this country should go through what my daughter went through. She was driven to death by (former Haryana director general of police S.P.S.) Rathore,” a weeping Girhotra said at the suburban Panchkula house of Anand and Madhu Prakash, the couple who fought for his daughters case for the last 19 years.

He said his family was “still terrified” and sought security.

Fourteen-year-old Ruchika committed suicide three years after she was molested by Rathore, Aug 12, 1990.

Rathore was Monday convicted by a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special court here and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment and a fine of only Rs 1,000. He was immediately bailed out.
