US agents arrest 8 Dominicans at PR airport
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Federal authorities at Puerto Rico’s main airport have arrested eight Dominicans for allegedly trying to board flights to New York using fake identification.
The U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection says agents at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport just outside the U.S. territory’s capital arrested the eight Dominicans with counterfeit Puerto Rico driver’s licenses.
Bureau spokesman Jeffrey Quinones said Wednesday the suspects face charges of violating identity fraud laws.
Quinones says fingerprint checks showed that one suspect, Fabian Daniel Lizardo, had been deported from the United States for a drug conviction in Pennsylvania.
