NEW DELHI - Barely hours after reported firing at a plush bar-cum-cafe in south Delhi, a senior police officer Wednesday denied any such incident.

Our officers, who inspected the spot, have ruled out firing at the Mocha Bar in their preliminary report. But we are still investigating the case, Additional Commissioner of Police Virender Singh told IANS.

Singh said police received information of firing at Mocha Cafe in Kalkaji in the afternoon.

According to police, it was reported that an unidentified man fired at the security guard following an argument between two women and the cafe staff. The bullet missed the guard and the accused fled from the spot.

The women had attended a party in the cafe late Tuesday and one of them reportedly lost her wallet. They came to the cafe Wednesday to inquire about the wallet. When the staff said they did not find any such thing, an argument broke out. The women insisted that they call the night staff present at the time of party, police said.

Singh said police have detained the two women for questioning. We are inquiring the matter, he said.
