NEW DELHI - The son of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator from Uttar Pradesh Wednesday opened fire at the plush Mocha Bar in south Delhi after an argument with the manager, police said.

“Vivek Singh, the son of BSP MLA Chander Bir Singh, opened fire at the bar manager in Mocha Bar,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (southeast Delhi) Virender Singh, who had earlier denied reports of firing.

“The bullet missed the manager and hit a wooden plank. Vivek fled the place,” he said. The Mocha Bar is a bar cum cafe at the busy Nehru Place commercial area.

“We have registered a case of attempt to murder against him and are hopeful of arresting him soon.”
