PARIS, FRANCE (GaeaTimes.com)- It seems that the French government is in no mood to cow down in the wake of the terror threats that it is facing from Osama Bin Laden. French president Nicolas Sarkozy said at the European Union summit in Brussels that the threatening message that has come to light and has apparently been recorded by Osama Bin Laden, would not be able to make his government change its stand in any way.

While addressing journalists at the European Union summit, President Nicolas Sarkozy said that under no circumstances would France allow its politics to be governed by anyone and most definitely not by a terrorist. Apart from the French President, Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner has also been vocal about the fact that the threat message that has been issued would in no way influence the present stand of the country. While playing down the Al-Qaeda kingpin Osama Bin Laden’s ability to affect events from his current hide-out, the foreign minister said that the threatening message comes as no surprise.

The message that come to light last week, Osama Bin Laden gave a warning to the French government to stop oppressing Muslims in its nation while also warning France to pull out its troops from Afghanistan. At the same time, the audio message also claims that the abduction of the five French national and two African nationals in Niger in September was in retaliation to the injustice that France mets out to the Muslim community. Moreover, the message which has apparently been recorded by the Al-Qaeda leader describes the French initiative to curb the full veil as ‘colonial oppression.’
