FBI executes searches related to Times Square plot
WASHINGTON — Justice Department spokesman Dean Boyd says two people are in federal custody after search warrants were issued in multiple locations in the Northeast in connection to the Times Square bombing investigation.
Boyd says the two people are being held on alleged immigration violations, but he would not provide more details.
The bombing suspect, Faisal Shahzad, has been cooperating with investigators since he was arrested early last week.
Boyd says the searches are the product of evidence that’s been gathered in the 13-day investigation.
Police have cordoned off a small house in Watertown, Mass., a suburb about 10 miles west of Boston. But FBI spokeswoman Gail Marcinkiewicz would not confirm addresses of the raids in the Boston area.
