Two arrested with heroin worth Rs.1 crore

LUCKNOW - Two drug peddlers were arrested with heroin worth Rs.1 crore in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, police said Thursday.

Mohammad Yaseen and Mohammad Sadiq, both in their mid-30s, were nabbed Thursday in Aurangabad town of the district, some 400 km from Lucknow.

“Acting on a tip-off, we intercepted Yassen and Sadiq, who were riding a motorbike along the Dadri road. They tried their best to escape, but our team managed to arrest the two,” police inspector O.B. Chaudhary told reporters in Bulandshahr.

According to police, the two, who are residents of Uttar Pradesh, have confessed that they have been into the illegal trade of drugs supply for the last five years and also have clients in Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand as well as the state itself.
