Indian Railways Player Shot Dead

PATNA, BIHAR (GaeaTimes.com)- In a sensational development a drunk CRPF Jawan has shot dead a Kabaddi player who played for Indian railways in Bihar. The national level female player reportedly declined to give the jawan her number which infuriated him and he shot her from closer distance. The 21 year old player named Manisha Devi was returning to home after practice from Moin-ul-Haq stadium of Patna. The shooter jawan Jaswant Singh was also posted at the same stadium. When the player refused to share her mobile number with him the duo had a heated exchange.

The jawan who was in a drunken state at that time shot the Indian railways player. He was carrying his service weapon aka AK-47 at that time even though he was on light duty. The ill fated athlete succumbed to the bullet injuries and when she was rushed to the hospital it was too late. The CRPF jawan then fired on himself. He was critically injured and later taken to the Patna Medical College and Hospital. The Doctors have said that his condition is quite serious. An Fir was lodged against the jawan later under section 302 of IPC.

The Railway Ministry has asked the sports Railway Board to provide all possible aid to the family members of the slain athlete. Her parents at Himachal Pradesh are dazed after learning the news of the death of their daughter. Manisha Devi was working in Eastern Central railway’s Danapur divisional office as a clerk. She was headed to take part in the National Games and was preparing to depart for Ranchi. Her fate had other plans.
