Chandigarh Police Probing Hit-And-Run Case

CHANDIGARH, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Chandigarh police is yet to make progress in a sensational case involving two girls who hit two persons and one of the victims was a child. The accident took place on Tuesday evening and the two girls who were drunk were in a Honda Accord. The car hit a motorcycle in Sector 3 of Chandigarh at a place which is close to the residence of the Haryana and Punjab CM. The eyewitnesses said the accident was caused by a mad race between the Honda car and a Maruti Swift. It has been reported that after hitting the bike the girls who were on the Honda Accord fled the spot by taking lift in another car.
The Chandigarh Police is now on the lookout for the girls who wee involved in the mishap. The identity of one of the girls involved in the incident is yet to be traced. One of the girls has been identified and her name is Amanat Brar. She is 19 years old. She had struck and killed Sukhwinder Singh, 21and his 5 year old cousin Harpreet Singh. Amanat Brar later surrendered to the cops and was granted a bail soon.
The Chandigarh Police has not succeeded in arresting 2 other youth who helped the drunken girls to escape after the accident. The family of the girl has given the photocopy of the driving license. Amanat Brar has been charged with Indian Penal Code Section 304-A and section 279. The delay in her arrest may destroy the evidence including the trace of alcohol in blood.
