Figueroa Agosto Arrested

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO (GaeaTimes.com)- Druglord Jose Figueroa Agosto has been taken into custody by authorities in city of San Juan in Puerto Rico. The drug kingpin was detained in the Dominican neighborhood of the city on Saturday finally bringing an end to the extensive search of the police authorities spanning across years. Jose Figueroa Agosto was driving through the locality in San Juan wearing a wig when the cops got hold of him. On realizing that he was being followed by the authorities, the druglord abandoned his vehicle and attempted to flee from the scene but was ultimately caught by the cops.
Antonio Torres, a leading official of the U.S. Marshal’s Service fugitive task force in Puerto Rico told the media that the when the cops asked his name, 45-year-old drug kingpin replied that they already knew very well who he actually was. The arrest of Jose Figueroa Agosto is indeed a major breakthrough for the federal authorities which had been on the look out for the druglord for decades now. U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez pointed out in a news conference on Saturday that the detention of Jose Figueroa Agosto was definitely ‘tremendous’.
Jose Figueroa Agosto, who is also referred to as Pablo Escobar of the Caribbean, is the man behind a wide range of crimes that includes drug trafficking, abduction, money laundering and murder charges as well. He is suspected to be responsible for trafficking Colombian drugs to United States through Puerto Rico. He was behind the bar in Puerto Rico but was able to escape from prison in 1999.
