Bombay High Court

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Bombay High Court has asked the central and the state government to list out all security measures as they were instructed to adopt following the terrorist attack in 26/11 terrorist attacks. Reportedly, it has been eighteen months but the center and the state government has not been able to impress the Bombay High Court with their proceedings.

The Bombay High Court which was presiding over a case of public interest litigation in accordance to the case filed by attorney VP Patil held the government officials responsible for the not setting up a unit of NSG in Mumbai. The Bombay High Court has also asked for an adequate explanation for the delay in adopting the security measures against all terrorist attacks. Both Justice Ranjana Desai along with justice VK Tahilramani questioned the government officials for hours. Justice Ranjana Desai asked the officials to deploy the commandos in the sensitive regions of the city. The government officials said that the commando unit has already been deployed and the NSG training shall soon have all unit members ready for action in a couple of months.

Bombay High Court also asked the government officials to make sure that the availability of the resources aren’t hampered at any cost. Following the petitioner’s information, the Bombay High Court demanded a justification for the absence of helicopters to fly the commandos. After the terrorist attack in the month of November in 2008, the Bombay High Court had issued orders to the state government to file an affidavit for the security measures that are to be adopted. However, no such affidavit has been filed up till now which the court has called to be a serious issue of irresponsibility.
