Mexican prosecutors seek arrest in Cancun death
CANCUN, Mexico — Mexican prosecutors are seeking the arrest of a former “Survivor” producer suspected in the death of his wife while on vacation with their children at a Cancun resort.
The assistant attorney general of Quintana Roo says a judge is reviewing the case and is expected to decide whether to issue an arrest warrant in the killing of Monica Beresford-Redman.
Rodolfo Garcia Pliego declined to provide further details on Monday.
Suspect Bruce Beresford-Redman returned to California after police in Mexico detained him and later released him on orders that he not leave.
His attorney said issuing an arrest warrant would be a rush to judgment.
Richard Hirsch said that his client is innocent and is prepared to defend himself in court.
