UK police arrest suspect in triple killing
LONDON — British police say they’ve arrested a 40-year-old man in the killing of three prostitutes in northern England.
West Yorkshire Police said Wednesday that the man was being questioned after having been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The three victims had all been missing from their homes — one since last month.
Officers said a member of the public had earlier found body parts of an as-yet-unidentified victim in a river in Shipley, northern England. Shipley was one of the towns plagued in the late 1970s and early 1980s by serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, who was convicted in 1981 of 13 murders.
Asst. Chief Constable Jawaid Akhtar said police have until Thursday evening to question their suspect.
