Maoists kill four policemen in eastern India

Maoists have killed four policemen and injured another one in a daylight attack at a nationalised bank in eastern Indian state of Bihar, police said today.

Police said the rebels attacked a branch office of the Punjab National bank at Tandawa market in south Bihar’s Aurangabad district this afternoon and fired indiscriminately at the security guards posted there, killing four of them on the spot.

Police said the rebels also looted five weapons and several rounds of ammunitions from the cops before fleeing the scene.

Senior officials have rushed to the spot to take stock of te situation.
