Record arrest of corrupt public servants in Bihar

Vigilance Bureau in Bihar has arrested record number of corrupt public servants in the past month.

Officials said they have arrested altogether 18 officials in a single month in April which is the highest number of arrests in any month in Bihar so far.

Earlier, a maximum of 12 corrupt officials had been arrested in March 2007.

The overall situation of “bribery”, has come to such a sorry pass that now even the women officials have begun taking bribe.

Last month, two women officials were arrested for demanding bribes from the people.

An official report said more than 450 public servants have been arrested by the vigilance bureau for seeking bribe against work in the past four years.
