Thomas Hagan

NEW YORK, (GaeaTimes.com)- He was called Talmadge Hayer when he fired bullets from his hand gun straight into the chest of Malcolm X. Today he is Thomas Hagan, a parole who had just stepped outside the prison in search of a new life. Thomas Hagan was the very first among the Malcolm X assassins to admit his crime following which he was put behind the bars for a long span of 44 years.

Reportedly, Thomas Hagan and his fellow assassins fired 16 bullets at Malcolm X while he was addressing the Harlem Audubon Ballroom crowd. These 44 years at the Lincoln Correctional Facility has been an ordeal for Thomas Hagan who claims that he is a changed man now. After he stepped outside the Lincoln Correctional Facility he said that he laments his involvement in the assassination act of Malcolm X. Thomas Hagan confessed his crime in the year of 1966 during his third trial. Reportedly, the other two assassins involved in the murder of Malcolm X has been sentenced to prison long before the trial of Thomas Hagan.

In due course of time Thomas Hagan had applied to the Parole board for his release which was rejected on more than one occasion. His fellow wrong doers earned their innocent degree from the Parole Board and left the prison in the year of 1980 when they were paroled. Since then, Thomas Hagan has maintained a silent life behind the bars of the Lincoln Correctional Faculty waiting for his release date to arrive. Owing to his good nature that he projected in the prison, Thomas Hagan was granted parole ahead of his actual release date.
