Thieves in Bihar have been routinely targeting the housing flats of VIPs in Bihar, police said today.
Police said the thieves have looted the houses of at least eight VIPs settled in posh colonies of Patna, the capital of Bihar.
Police said the victims included a Crime Investigation Department inspector, bank chairman, accountants, govenrment officials and prominent businessmen.
Strangely, most of these flats were looted in broad day light.
The incidents belie the police claim that the law and order situation has drastically improved under the ruling Nitish Kumar government in Bihar.
According to a report received from state police headquarters, a total of 1,07,857 criminals including 3457 hardcore criminals, were arrested under a massive anti-crime drive launched by the state police last year.
Reports say altogether 15 criminals were killed and 2,281 arms recovered from their possession in 44 police encounters.
