Bihar JD-U MP fined for fraud

A Rajya Sabha Member from Janata Dal (United) Ali Anwar Ansari was today caught allowing a man travelling with him in an express train on his ID number, railway officials said.
Officials said the ticket had been booked in the name of Ali’s wife but a man posing as his “wife” was caught travelling with him in the Seemachal Express and was fined for Rs 946.
Officials said Ali was allowed to travel further only after he coughed up the fine.
The MP from Bihar was caught in unlawful act following a raid by railway’s anti-fraud squad on Monday night.
Anwar who has a controversial past for switching loyalty at the drop of hats was picked up for Rajya Sabha by chief minister Nitish Kumar after he actively campaigned for latter during 2005 assembly polls and helped Kumar get the votes of the dalit Muslims.
Kumar became the chief minister after October-November 2005 state assembly polls.
