School students beat classmate to death

Some school students in Bihar beat to death their 10-year-old fellow classmate following altercation over a missing pen, police said today.

Police said the angry students lynched Khushabu Kumari, a class III student at the local govenrment middle school in north Bihar’s Sitamarhi district.

Police said the victim had gone to the school on Wednesday during which her pen went missing.

“When she inquired about her missing pen from her friends, they got agitated and beat her to death”, police said adding a case has been registered with the Bairgania police station in this connection.

Police said they have registered a case against five students and three school teachers.

“We have been informed that the teachers did not intervene and remained engrossed in talks even after being informed about the beating of the victim”, police said.
