SAN DIEGO (GaeaTimes.com)- John Albert Gardner III, the registered sex offender under the San Diego court pleaded guilty in court on Friday. He had been charged with molesting and killing teenagers almost five years back. In the presence of the parents of two of his victims came the sudden and surprising plea from the molester. John Albert Gardner III was brought to court as part of a routine schedule. He had always pleaded non-guilty in the past, so nobody expected him to plead guilty this time.
On account of the plea made by the accused in court on Friday the Judge had to proclaim the important decision that the registered sex offender would no longer be subject to the death penalty as was earlier said. He will now be imprisoned for life with no expectation of parole.
The death of the two teenage girls had generated a lot of scare in the region of Escondido. 17 year old Chelsea King and Amber Dubois aged only 14 years had been murdered long back in the month February. The parents of the two girls have been fighting since then for justice in the case. While the former had been strangled to death by the 31 year old John Albert Gardner III, the latter had been stabbed to death, said a very somber-looking registered sex offender during the trial on Friday. The remains of both the girls were kept in graves which were also dug by John Albert Gardner III.San Diego police were heavily criticized over the incident in the past. It was said that they did not give enough importance to the case when it was taking them several months to locate the missing girls.
