Maoist Movement In India Reaches Bloody Height

PATNA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- In a major turnaround in recent times, the Maoists killed 76 troops of paramilitary foot patrol on Monday, in dense forest region of Chhattisgarh. The nation was stunned to see the rebels defying the government hunt down named as Operation Greenhunt and flexing their muscles in the dense forest region frequented by them. The incident is really shocking and it proves the fact that despite the hardcore attempts of the government to wipe them off their favorite zones they have enough resources to take vengeance. The Maoist movement has found sympathizers in a section of the intellectuals of late. This new massacre however, may sway the public sentiments against them.

Palaniappan Chidambaram, Indian Home Minister, who came down heavily on the Maoist movement in India a few days back, reached the place of the ambush along with the law enforcement officials. The police are searching for traces of the rebels who played a role behind the gory ambush. The group of soldiers that was targeted was returning to their base in Dantewada forests of the state. The Maoists succeeded in placing landmines under camouflage and they went off as the soldiers walked on. The ambush was pre planned and executed with attention to details.

The Maoists succeeded in injuring almost every soldier in the group. The Indian Home Minister aid that the incident was sad and the soldiers probably could not make out that the Maoists had laid a trap for them in the dense forest. The incident has given a new shape to the ongoing Maoist movement in India.
