Inter-state gang of robbers busted

CHANDIGARH - Chandigarh Police Friday said they had busted an inter-state gang of robbers who specialized in robbing industrial units here and in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
The gang was broken up with the arrest of 11 men. Police also recovered a home-made pistol, cartridges, swords and sharp-edged weapons from them.
“They stole nickel, brass and scrap material,” Senior Superintendent of Police S.S. Srivastava said.
He added: “Three men managed to get away. After their interrogation, we are hopeful of making a big recovery and solving many pending cases.”
