Man tries to kill himself in police station, 5 cops suspended

BHOPAL - Five policemen were suspended after a murder suspect tried to kill himself inside a Madhya Pradesh police station, authorities said Wednesday.
Ashok Gaur tried to commit suicide inside the bathroom of Hanuman Tal police station in Jabalpur city late Tuesday. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is stable.
He was brought to the police station for interrogation in a murder case.
“Five policemen on duty have been suspended for laxity. An inquiry has been initiated to find out how and why the suspect attempted to commit suicide,” Jabalpur Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar Singh told IANS.
