Bihar police identify man who threatened to kill minister

PATNA - Police Wednesday claimed to have identified the man who allegedly threatened to kill Bihar Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) minister Ashwini Kumar Chaubey and his family.
The man was identified as Sadanand Mandal, a resident of Bhagalpur.
Mandal called Chaubey on his mobile phone late Monday and threatened to kill him and his family, police alleged. The minister soon informed the police. He said Mandal threatened him thrice.
A police officer said Mandal earlier threatened a college professor and demanded a large sum.
Police have begun investigation in the case, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said.
Chaubey is a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader who represents Bhagalpur constituency in Bihar assembly.
