BHOPAL - Three men including a junior doctor accused of raping a 27-year-old MPhil student of Barkatullah University here have been arrested, police said Tuesday.
The trio first got the victim inebriated and then took turns to rape her, police alleged.
The incident came to light when the victim sent an SMS to her dean Monday afternoon.
The accused have been identified as Pradeep More, 28, Raghuraj and Anand Mishra. More, a railway employee, knew the victim and contacted her on Sunday and asked her to accompany him for some work. He took the girl to the flat of Raghuraj — a doctor — Sunday night, where the rape took place, according to police.
The third accused, Anand Mishra, reportedly took the victim to a movie on Monday to appease her. Police said a medical test confirmed rape, but Raghuraj said he did not know who she was, and claimed that he was being framed.
