RINGGOLD (GaeaTimes.com)- Tonya Craft verdict has ultimately been declared by the Catoosa County Superior court jury on Tuesday afternoon. The 37-year-old Tonya Craft has been acquitted of all the 22 counts of child molestation charges that were brought against her in May 2008. The verdict follows the five weeks trial and two days of deliberation. Tonya Craft was not only charged with child molestation but also with aggravated sexual battery and aggravated child molestation.

The Tonya Craft’s charges and trial had gained the national attention and many supported the teacher claiming that the stories told by the three girls were fabricated. Tonya Craft’s verdict was welcomed with cheers by her supporters. Her supporters feel that justice has ultimately been done to the mother of one who had to suffer so much of mental agony due to the false charges and the social boycott that she had to face. After three girls complained of being molested by Tonya Craft the teacher who used to teach at the Chickamauga Elementary School, the latter was fired from her job. She also lost the custody of her daughter and had to shift with her husband to Soddy-Daisy. Tonya Craft was on trial in Ringgold.

On the part of Tonya Craft, the mother reportedly said to media sources that though justice has ultimately done by the court, she would never forget the mental agony and the loss that she had to suffer for the charges and the trial. Tonya Craft said that in this trial and verdict no one has been a winner. She maintained that though there can be restoration and the verdict might bring some awareness among common people who have never faced such an accusation, it will in no way get her the lost happiness.
