JAIPUR, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Problems and accusations continue to haunt Lalit Modi, the IPL commissioner with new allegations surfacing almost every day against him. It seems that now his wife Minal Modi will not be spared either. The IPL Commissioner is facing attacks from Ashok Gehlot, the CM of Rajasthan. The CM has lashed out at him and former CM of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje for selling the heritage havelis in the state adjacent to the Amber Fort. It was done through the ADMA or Amber Development and Maintenance Authority. Minal Modi was a member of this association, as the evidences point out. The allegation says that the deal will damage the heritage by converting the age old havelis into hotels.

However, it is quite ironical that the government run by Ashok Gehlot earlier justified the building of ADMA in 2009 while replying to a high court query and it was aware that Minal Modi was a part of it. As the media entities have confirmed, Lalit Modi now faces a criminal complaint case. The complaint is against the tainted IPL commissioner, his spouse and 8 other people involved in the entire fiasco.

The criminal case filed against Minal Modi and her husband says that the two heritage buildings fall in the area protected by the Rajasthan state government. However, the couple managed to bypass the law and ended up buying them in a fraudulent manner. They bought the heritage buildings through a company named ‘Heritage City Construction Pvt. Ltd’ and soon after the purchase they became its directors. The court hearing will take place today.
