Police foils attempt to take control of the Gordon College Chapel by terrorists in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Coming into action swiftly, police had foiled an attempt by armed men and women to take control of the Gordon College Chapel in the wee hours on Friday 2 April.
Police have arrested five men and women along with automatic weapons who stormed into ancient chapel situated in the heart of garrison city of Rawalpindi (a sister city of Islamabad the capital of Pakistan).
Preliminary investigations revealed the culprits were all Muslims. After getting information about the incident, a prominent figure of Pakistani Christians Samson Simon Sharaf along with Christian activists reached police station and most of the night in the Police Station.
The FIR was finally registered at 3 AM including terrorism clauses. The police have recovered a cache of sophisticated weapons from custody of culprits also.
When contacted by this correspondent, Chief City Police Officer DIG Rao Iqbal confirmed the incident and said media will be informed until police is done with investigation.
” The initial Police action in regaining control of the church was efficient and surgical. However, investigation was on till filing of this report,” he said.
