LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The Insurance executive Michael David Barrett who filmed secretly the ESPN reporter Erin Andrews through the peephole of the hotel rooms, has been sentenced a jail term of two and half years along with fine and restitution. On Monday, the U.S. District Judge passed the judgment at the Los Angeles Court House. However, Erin Andrews seemed dissatisfied with the judgment and said that such a criminal should be kept behind bar for a longer period.

Erin Andrews was followed by the Insurance executive in many cities and was filmed nude by the offender secretively through a peephole camera. Michael David Barrett has then reportedly tried to sell the video to a gossip website. The video tape has been since then leaked onto the web. On December last year, Michael David Barrett pleaded guilty of the act. On being convicted on Monday, the tearful Michael David Barrett apologized in front of Erin Andrews who said that by filming her naked secretively through the peephole he has not only violated her modesty but of all other women. She said that any apology will fall short in front of the trauma that she suffers ever day and will suffer all her life due to the peephole video that is spread on the internet.

The U.S. District Judge while sentencing, said that the court has levied the maximum punishment over the offender. It also said that he will suffer due to this punishment all his life and though no life sentence has been given, hopes that the greatest life sentence is the guilt itself whose burden he will be carrying all his life. Erin Andrews showed no sympathy towards the Insurance executive who said that he will work towards regaining his respect in his family and friends.
