Birney Elementary School Tragedy

TACOMA, WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- On Friday, the Birney Elementary School witnessed a tragedy when a teacher of the school was shot dead while she was about to enter the school reportedly. The victim suffered multiple gun shots from a man against whom she had lodged a complaint few days ago. She succumbed to death at the spot only.
The tragedy occurred at around 7:35 AM in front of the school building. However, children of the school had not arrived at that time as according to the officials, the school begins at 9AM. As the news of the tragedy spread the buses were turned to another route. The Birney Elementary School’s spokesperson Dan Voelpel has said that the victim was a special education teacher in the school.
According to reports, the killer was known to the Birney Elementary School teacher for a long time. She has few days ago complained to the anti-harassment branch of police against the man who allegedly killed her. The man according to reports had waited in front of the school gate for the teacher to arrive and then attacked her just after she arrived and fled the place. However, the police had reportedly later gunned down the killer in an encounter 10 miles away from the place where the crime was committed. The description of the killer was reportedly provided by the witness who heard the gunshots.
Whether the two shared any relationship is still not established. While no public statement about the identity of the school teacher and the killer has been released, some sources have revealed the teacher’s name to be Jennifer Paulson and that of the killer’s to be Jed Waits.
