PUNE - In what is being considered a significant breakthrough, Pune police have zeroed in on four suspects who could be responsible for the Feb 13 terror blast at the German Bakery here, a top police official said here Wednesday.
KOLKATA - The West Bengal government Wednesday admitted that it had prior information about Maoists gathering in West Midnapore's Shilda area, where a daring attack by guerrillas left 24 paramilitary troopers dead. But it maintained that it had no knowledge that they would attack the security force camp.
ISLAMABAD - The Pakistani army confirmed Wednesday that Taliban's top commander Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar was captured in a joint raid by the US and Pakistani intelligence in Karachi.
LUCKNOW - The body of 23-year-old Abhishek Saxena, who was killed in Saturday's blast in Pune, was cremated here Wednesday afternoon. The event was attended by a large number of friends and family members.
NEW DELHI - The Congress Wednesday accused the Left of transplanting "a foreign ideology predicated in violence" and said those romanticizing or legitimizing Maoist violence should be ostracized.
