SRINAGAR - A gun battle broke out Wednesday morning between separatist guerrillas and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The fighting erupted when security forces surrounded a house in Kuchwa Mukam village, 68 km from here, a police officer told IANS.

The militants were challenged to surrender but they started firing at the troops. The encounter is still going on, the officer said.

Two guerrillas are reportedly holed up in the house.
