JAMMU - Three terrorists were killed and a soldier was injured in a day-long gun battle in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir Thursday.

An army spokesman said two terrorists have been identified as Abu Usman and Abu Ali, both Pakistani nationals, who were active in the area for the past eight to nine years.

The identity of the third could not be immediately ascertained, he added.

The gunfight began when a patrol party of the Indian army was ambushed by terrorists in Morah area Thursday.

The gun battle lasted for more than seven hours in the thickly forested mountainous area.

“A huge haul of arms and ammunition was also recovered,” the spokesman added.
