Elizabeth Smart: A Victim of Sexual Assault waiting for Justice Since 2002

SALT LAKE CITY (GaeaTimes.com) — The judge associated with the case of Elizabeth Smart kidnapping case, Has asked the lawyers to speed up their action of questioning jurors. Elizabeth Smart is a victim of sexual assault by Brian David Mitchell.

The incident happened in June 2002 when Elizabeth, then 14 years old. Her family filed a case against Mitchell accusing him of kidnapping Elizabeth and raping her repeatedly for nine months.

The proceedings is still on and the question is that why will the poor victim has to wait so many years to get justice. U.S. District Judge Dale Kimball stated that there were 22 potential jurors and ten more will be chosen.
