Maintain calm, peace, appeals PM after Varanasi blast

NEW DELHI - Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday appealed to people to maintain peace and calm following a bomb explosion in the temple town of Varanasi that left many injured.

Expressing concern over the blast, Manmohan Singh asked people to “maintain calm and peace, an official in the Prime Minister’s Office said.

The prime minister has asked the union home ministry for a report on the explosion, described by the ministry as of low-intensity.
