Hang us, don’t deport us: 5 Americans held on terror charges

ISLAMABAD - Hang us but don’t deport us: That’s the plea five US nationals arrested for their alleged involvement in terrorist activities have made to the Pakistani government.

They said that if they were handed over to the US, there was a possibility that they would be treated inhumanly and didn’t want to be insulted and humiliated by the American intelligence agencies, Online news agency reported.

In these circumstance, they said they were appealing to the Pakistani government to decide their fate and that they would prefer the death sentence to deportation.

Pakistani authorities say the five young men used the social networking site Facebook and the Internet video site YouTube to try to connect with extremist groups in this country.

The Anti Organized-Crime Cell had arrested the five men during a raid on a house situated in the Aziz Bhatti Town locality of Punjab’s Sargodha city.

According to a private TV channel, the five men have now been shifted to Lahore’s Chohang Training Center for further interrogation.
