‘Action against Saeed will help, but Pakistan must do more’

BRASILIA - Barely a fortnight before a SAARC summit in Bhutan, India has made it clear to Pakistan that although action against Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed will help, but Islamabad must do more to punish the 26/11 attackers.

Action against Hafiz Saeed will be a useful indication of Pakistan’s willingness to do something, sources said Saturday. Action against Saeed will not be enough and is not the only benchmark, they said.

“If you remove Hafiz Saeed from the world, will it stop terrorist attacks against India,” a source said.

Pakistan must take credible action against the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attacks before India can think of resuming talks, they said.
