NEW DELHI - US President Barack Obama called up Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday morning to condemn last Saturday’s bomb blast in Pune and to condole the loss of lives in the terror attack that killed 11 people.

In a brief conversation, the two leaders took the opportunity to review developments in India-US relations, said a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The toll from the Pune blast has risen to 11 after a bomb concealed in a backpack went off Saturday evening in a popular bakery.

Police have detained two persons for questioning about the attack.
