UNITED NATIONS - UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned the deadly suicide bombing at Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport Monday, which killed at least 35 people.

The secretary-general is “appalled” by the incident and “condemns this deplorable and unjustifiable act of violence against innocents”, UN spokesman Farhan Haq told reporters here.

According to Xinhua, Ban “conveys his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and his solidarity with the government and the people of the Russian Federation,” Haq said.

Meanwhile, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev called for an emergency meeting with security chiefs at the Kremlin to discuss the situation.

Medvedev postponed his trip to the annual World Economic Forum meeting set to kick off Wednesday in Davos, Switzerland.
