ISLAMABAD - At least two policemen and a security man were killed Thursday in two separate attacks on security personnel in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, hours after 20 people were killed in a suicide blast Wednesday evening.

Two policemen were killed and five others were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) targeting a police mobile van blew up in the Jani Khel area of Bannu district, the Express Tribune reported.

In another incident that happened shortly after the explosion, a security official was killed in an attack targeting a check-post in the Bara area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

This is the third explosion since Wednesday evening after at least 20 people, among them six policemen, were killed and 15 others were injured when a suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into a mosque next to a police station in Bannu district.

Earlier Wednesday afternoon, two back-to-back blasts in Panchgai area of Peshawar, capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killed two women.
