Taliban militants planning attack on Karachi arrested

ISLAMABAD - A plan to launch a terror attack on Karachi was foiled Tuesday with the arrest of four Pakistani Taliban militants, police said.
Anti-terrorism police from the criminal investigation department (CID) arrested the four Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan militants who were planning to target sensitive areas, police offices and shrines. They were also planning attacks on Shiite Muslims, police said. Xinhua reported.
The terrorists were identified as Amanuddin - leader of the group - Muhammad Omar, Barkatullah and Ehsanullah.
They were arrested from Sohrab Goth area and three suicide jackets, explosives and two Kalashnikovs were recovered from them, said senior superintendent of police Omar Aslam.
Another police officer named Omar Shahid said: “They recently returned from Waziristan for launching terrorist attacks in Karachi.”
