RAIPUR - Close on the heels of killing abducted policeman Lucas Tete in Bihar, Maoist militants Friday hacked to death a police constable in the midst of a weekly market in Chhattisgarh’s restive Bastar region.

The brutal murder took place in Katekalyan area in Dantewada district, over 420 km south of state capital Raipur.

“The police constable Nobel Khalko was attacked in a flash in a full public view by several Maoists in a weekly market. He was attacked with sharp edged weapons and died on the spot,” S.R.P. Kalluri, senior superintendent of police, Dantewada told IANS over phone.
